Selling Club Mystic

Today many Mystic Lake employees had to go to work early to attend was stated as a class. The title was "Selling Club Mystic" but instead they had some consultant from Las Vegas speak about guest service and marketing. How marketing entailed all aspects of a business and that was our true mission.

Anyways, it won't truly change the Mystic Lake culture overnight, but it could improve the atmosphere to a more guest-centric environment.

Steve Browne is nothing but a mindless chatterer from Raving Consultants. He didn't let anyone ask any questions, nor would he be able to. He can't handle the reality of dysfunctional casinos.

It seems likely that Steve made his consultant spiel to SMSC Gaming board members. They liked it so much they said "Why not tell ALL our team members what you told US!" So he did, editing it a moderating to to the level of lowly team members - who he used to be.

But Steve is just a consultant. Nothing will change at Mystic Lake, because promoting Club Mystic Cards won't give anyone a raise. Nor will it allow for the formation of a union. Thank you for the BS speech Steve Browne of Raving Consultants. Now go back to Vegas, the ideal place to live unsustainably in a desert.

Supervisor Mary was fired due to W2G errors ( four). Yet our computer system is still worthless. Machines kick out blank tickets. Our PDAs were a joke - they don't work. Yet I bet no one was fired.

The auditing department truly rules at Mystic Lake - not guest service.

I think that the issues that you are speaking of may have been resolved. Seriously, Let me tick them off.

-Club Mystic has done an incredible job in improving its marketing. You would have to see how far we have come since I first started.

-PDAs: Grave shift uses them and they seem to do what they were meant to.

-Not sure what to say about auditing. Not a department I know anything about. But I think they give the management more free reign than you assume.

-comments about people losing their jobs. Not sure what to say because I do not know the issues around these entirely. It may not be as simple as claimed, but are things ever simple?

If I see a problem, I let people know and assume things will get fixed by those who can. It's all a process and if you can allow time to pass before being overcome by cynicism, you see this works.

-I think the casino is running very efficiently now. When we first got the new ticket system, scared co-workers said that we would all "lose our jobs." or tips would go down. None of these happened.

Mystic Lake has ensured that its employees maintain stability through the times of chaotic change. So when times are a bit crazy, does that make it "dysfunctional"?" I think the strides the casino has made are quite commendable.

But hey, if you are still "pissed off" go for a jog or bike around a "sustainable" lake. Unless you are in Vegas now too. ;D
